Posted on February 10th, 2016

Nogics recently announced upcoming launch of its broadband internet services for corporate clients in Lucknow, India. Their are 5 interesting facts which corporate broadband user should know for sure.

Network Latency
Corporate clients like schools, colleges, SME’s requires internet of more then 10 computers at-least, the network latency plays vital role while sharing internet connection among several computers. Adding network switches, routers or other sharing devices increases network hops which also increase latency by 20-30%. Higher latency makes delay in DNS resolving and significantly decreases the broadband experience.

Network Protocol
Normally Indian broadband providers uses Asymmetrical connection using Point to Point protocol (PPP or PPPoE) for connecting their clients with their network. It is the traditional method which not only provide dedicated data tunnel to each user but also provides protected network access using PAP/CHAP/MSCHAP authentication.

Allocation of IP
In India, currently internet service providers (ISP) allocates dynamic public IP to their clients. If the IP gets allocated was abused in past by some-other user, you will face issues while sending an email or accessing few websites. In countries like USA/UK, clients get dedicated IP addresses from their ISP. This does not only prevents network abuse, but it also expedite the procedure of tracing abusers.

Connection Technology
Now a days, ISP’s are providing broadband internet connection via ADSL, Ethernet, Wireless (WIFI) and Fiber to home. The best and reliable technology among above given is ADSL/Fiber as it provides connection with lowest possible latency and interference. However Wireless (WIFI) is easiest/economical way to deploy last mile.

So before selecting your broadband providers, research a bit and make your decision.
